Gonzalo López-Gallego is an award-winning film and television director whose works include The Hollow Point (2016) starring Patrick Wilson, Ian McShane, and John Leguizamo, Backdraft 2 (2019) starring Donald Sutherland, Open Grave (2013) starring Sharlto Copley and Thomas Kretschmann, Apollo 18 (2011) produced by Timur Bekmambetov and Eric Schmidt, and American Star (2024) starring Ian McShane

 

Gonzalo has won the Malaga Film Festival Special Jury Award, and Eloy de La Iglesia award, as well as the Grand Prize for European Fantasy Film at the Amsterdam Fantastic film festival. He has also been nominated for best film at the Sitges international film festival and the Bogota film festival.
