Razwana Akram, a partner in the firm, and our legal representative is a commercial lawyer with specialist experience in intellectual property law and financing. She acts for a wide range of clients from the film and TV industries, institutional and private lenders, and investors and sponsors, both domestic and international. Her past projects include Chef (2014) directed and writing by John Favreau, starring Robert Downy Jr, and Scarlett Johansson, Outside the Wire (2021) directed Mikael Hafstrom and starring Anthony Mackie.

 

Razwana has also executive produced various film projects such as The Lost Girls (2022) Vanessa Redgrave and Joely Richardson. She also works on a number of cross-border transactions, in particular UK/US and UK/emerging markets projects, and advises on international structuring and security. Razwana has worked at Universal Pictures International Entertainment. Razwana has also substantial in house experience having worked at Universal Pictures and also has first-hand industry experience in the production of documentary films. She is recognized by her clients for “that rare ability to combine an outstanding depth of knowledge of the legal intricacies of film finance with a practical and commercial view on what our requirements might be from an investment perspective.” She is a Board adviser to a number of international charities and philanthropic organizations.
